P. B. Academic School celebrated its much-awaited Annual Fest, Utsav Chapter 4, on the 1st and 2nd of August 2025 with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The fest brought together 24 prestigious schools from across the city, making it a vibrant celebration of talent, creativity, and sportsmanship.
The opening ceremony was a glittering affair, graced by several renowned personalities from the fields of art, music, education, and sports. Their presence added immense charm and inspiration to the event. The school campus was transformed into a hub of excitement and colours as students showcased their skills across a wide spectrum of competitions.
The two-day extravaganza featured an impressive line-up of events including culinary contests, fashion shows, classical and contemporary dance performances, solo and band singing, flower arrangement, Bengali elocution, English declamation, nukkad natak (street play), and various sporting events such as basketball, karate, and tennis. The fest provided a dynamic platform for students to express their talents and engage in healthy competition.
Throughout the event, the energy and coordination among the participants were commendable. The competitions were judged by a panel of experts, and the enthusiasm of the audience was palpable in every corner of the campus.
A special highlight of the closing ceremony was the electrifying live performance by the popular band Danpitey. Their high-energy act set the perfect tone for the grand finale and was met with thunderous applause from students, guests, and teachers alike.
At the end of the fest, P. B. Academic School emerged as the overall champion, securing the highest points across multiple events. G. D. Birla Centre for Education bagged the position of first runner-up, while Vivekananda Mission School stood as the second runner-up.
The success of Utsav Chapter 4 was largely credited to the dynamic leadership and vision of the Principal, Mrs. Madhuparna Andrews. Her constant encouragement and guidance inspired the students and staff to strive for excellence. Under her stewardship, the fest not only celebrated young talent but also fostered values of teamwork, discipline, and cultural pride. The event concluded on a high note with a grand prize distribution ceremony, leaving behind memories of joy, achievement, and togetherness.

Academic School was held on 25th July 2025 to formally bestow leadership responsibilities on the newly appointed student council. The solemn occasion was graced by Ms. Pranati Saha, Deputy Superintendent of Police, CID WB who inspired the students with her enlightening words on the essence of leadership and the importance of being vigilant against cyber bullying.

The ceremony began with the presentation of the school anthem, followed by a motivating address by the school principal. Harshita Agarwal was announced as the School Captain, and Devansh Verma took the position of Vice School Captain. In addition, Captains and Prefects were selected from the four houses—Subhash, Teresa, Tagore, and Gandhi.

The highlight of the event was the solemn oath-taking ceremony, where the newly elected council members pledged to discharge their duties with honesty, responsibility, and dedication. The presentation of badges was done with great pride by the principal , Mrs Madhuparna Andrews and the esteemed guest.

The presence of the proud parents added to the glory of the moment, as they witnessed their children being entrusted with leadership roles. The event concluded on a note of promise and pride, marking a new beginning for the young leaders of the school.

We are delighted to share that our respected Principal Ma’am, Mrs. Madhuparna Andrews, was one of the distinguished panelists at the Edu Conclave hosted by the Indian Museum, Kolkata, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The Annual Prize Day of P. B. Academic School was held with much grandeur and pride on 19th July
2025, celebrating the unwavering efforts and achievements of the students. The occasion was graced by
the esteemed presence of Ms. Ruchika Gupta, President of the Sanmarg Group, who inspired the young
achievers with her warm words and gracious presence.

Students from Classes VI to XI were honoured with prizes for General Proficiency, Subject Toppers, Art,
and 100% Attendance, acknowledging their dedication and discipline. The spotlight of the ceremony
shone brightly on the ICSE and ISC toppers, who were awarded for their outstanding performance in the
board examinations, along with individual subject toppers who excelled in specific domains.

A moment of special pride was the presentation of the Principal’s Cup, awarded to the student who
exemplified excellence in both academics and overall conduct. Adding to the excitement were the
Rolling Trophies, presented to the highest scorers in English, Physics, and Economics, recognising
subject-wise brilliance at its best.

The event was a true celebration of perseverance, talent, and commitment, inspiring every student to
aim higher and strive harder. The Principal congratulated the winners and expressed that the event was
a testament to the school’s mission of nurturing excellence in every sphere of education.

Celebrating Young Voices: Friends FM School Ambassador Program Launch

Two enthusiastic students from P. B. Academic School—Priyanshi Sinha of Class XI and Trishita Chattopadhyay of Class IX had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Friends FM School Ambassador Program Launch held on 26th June 2025 at Gyan Manch, Kolkata. Accompanied by their teacher representative Mrs. Sudeshna Biswas, the students were part of this inspiring initiative organized by 91.9 Friends FM in association with The Telegraph Young Metro.

The event offered a unique platform for young voices to connect with the world of media and communication. The students not only gained insight into the workings of Friends FM radio but also actively took part in a lively interactive session, including a fun quiz that tested their knowledge and spontaneity. Both students won exciting prizes and exclusive merchandise from the station, making the experience even more memorable.

It was an enriching and empowering day for the students, who came away with a deeper appreciation for youth expression, media platforms, and the dynamic world of radio broadcasting.

Interact Club Organizes a Special Movie Outing for Underprivileged Children
The Interact Club of Purushottam Bhagchandka Academic School, in collaboration with Rotary Victoria,
undertook a heartwarming initiative to bring smiles to young faces. As part of this joint venture, 25
students from Deria Underprivileged School were invited to a special screening of Sitaare Zameen Par at
INOX Forum.
The children, accompanied by Interact Club teacher mentors Mrs. S. Dutta Ray and Ms. R. Dutta,
thoroughly enjoyed the cinematic experience. To make their outing memorable, they were served
popcorn and cold drinks during the show. Following the screening, they were also provided with dinner
packets.
This initiative reflects the Interact Club’s ongoing commitment to spreading joy and fostering inclusivity
through meaningful community engagement.

Our students embraced wellness and mindfulness as they performed various yoga asanas with great enthusiasm on 21 June. 🌿🕉

Special Olympics Bharat – West Bengal, under the able leadership of Mr. Asoke Chaki, Area Director and Secretary, organized a comprehensive Healthy Athlete Screening Program on 17th May 2025 at Purushottam Bhagchandka Academic School, the generous venue partner for the event. This impactful initiative aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of intellectually disabled athletes saw an enthusiastic participation of 200–250 athletes from various play and training centers across the state.

The event was graced by a distinguished panel of guests:

• Mrs. Vishakha Sharma, Patron Member, Special Olympics Bharat West Bengal
• Mr. Saikat Dey, Program Manager, Special Olympics Bharat West Bengal

The screening focused primarily on two health disciplines:

• Special Smiles – promoting oral hygiene and dental care.
• Opening Eyes – offering vision screenings and related advice.

Each athlete received individual attention, guidance, and screenings to help monitor and improve their health condition. These screenings are a core element of Special Olympics’ mission to provide inclusive healthcare to people with intellectual disabilities.

To ensure the athletes enjoyed a holistic and cheerful experience, a Funzone was also organized, filled with recreational and playful activities. A demonstration of the BOCCE game and Young Athletes activities was also conducted, showcasing the skills, joy, and spirit of inclusion that defines Special Olympics.

The event was further supported by:

• Volunteers from Boy Scouts of Bengal Tent, who extended immense help in managing the event smoothly.
• India Autism Center, the generous Food Partner, who ensured nutritious meals for all athletes and volunteers.
• Media coverage was provided by Sanmarg and Vishwamitra Media, helping amplify the voice and visibility of the cause.
• Lensokart, the official photography partner, beautifully captured every moment of compassion, joy, and empowerment.

Mr. PAWAN Kumar Patodia, President of Special Olympics Bharat – West Bengal, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all guests, volunteers, and partners whose support made the event a grand success. He emphasized the importance of such regular screenings and inclusive activities in building a healthier and more accepting world for persons with intellectual disabilities.

This program stands as a testimony to the power of community collaboration and inclusive efforts to promote health, happiness, and dignity for all.

“When in doubt, splash it out!”

P. B. Academic School turned up the splash and sparkle on 10th May 2025 as it hosted Aqua-Fiesta, a vibrant and joy-filled celebration for the Pre-Primary section. The event brought together fun, laughter, and water play, giving the little ones a much-needed break from the blazing summer heat.

The school playground was transformed into a water wonderland, complete with colorful floaties, tiny pools, and cheerful water games. Our tiny tots, dressed in their brightest swimwear, couldn’t contain their excitement as they splashed, played, and laughed with their friends.

The squeals of joy, happy giggles, and sparkling eyes of the children were heartwarming to witness. It was a day filled with carefree fun, where every drop of water echoed the spirit of early childhood – playful, pure, and full of wonder.

Aqua-Fiesta 2025 was not just an event, but a memory in the making – a beautiful reminder of how simple joys create the happiest moments in a child’s life.

On 26th April 2025, P. B. Academic School celebrated a special and memorable occasion marking an important milestone for the students of Class 5. A heartwarming Graduation Day ceremony was organized to honour the young learners promoted to Class 6, signifying their transition from the Primary to the Middle School. Wearing smart graduation caps, the students proudly participated in a graceful walk, symbolizing their growth, achievements, and readiness for the new challenges ahead. Their smiling faces reflected the excitement of stepping into a new phase of their academic journey. Proud parents were invited to witness the ceremony and share in the joyous moment, making the day even more meaningful for the students.

In addition to the Graduation Day, the school also celebrated the Annual Prize Day for Classes 3, 4, and 5. Students were recognized and awarded for their excellence in academics, outstanding attendance, and creativity in art. The prize distribution ceremony aimed to appreciate not only the toppers but also to motivate all students to strive for holistic growth.

The Principal, Mrs. Madhuparna Andrews, congratulated the students on their accomplishments and encouraged them to continue working hard with sincerity, discipline, and enthusiasm. She praised their efforts and resilience and emphasized the importance of maintaining a spirit of learning and creativity as they move forward. The day was filled with pride, joy, and inspiration, leaving a lasting memory for the young achievers and their families.
