Importance of Career Counselling in school
Career decisions play a vital role in shaping the future growth and development of students. In today’s environment of multiple options, knowing about choices available helps children in their decision – making process.
PBAS believes all its students have the ability to achieve and be successful based on their unique development need.
The students are guided as early as in Class IX to choose right combination of subjects. Our teachers and professional career counsellors highlight the importance of choosing right subjects suited to their aptitude and their choice.
In Class XI, students are offered varied subject combinations and there is very thin line between different streams. A student taking History, can even study Biology and Economics. Students can still explore their love for different subjects and then decide what they wish to pursue in college.
For Classes, XI-XII we have a feature called “CAREER UPDATE” where students are regularly informed about various competitive exams, admission notices of top colleges in India and worldwide and new courses available. The school also assist students with career fairs, expert panel discussions, webinars, college visits in school, and various other sessions.
Assessing personal preferences, skills, and interests is an important part of the career development process. The school aims to assist students have a better understanding of their skills, abilities, and career interests, and most importantly, how these relate to the workplace.
Students are also advised to explore experiential learning, which includes internships, summer school, student-led events, and other volunteering opportunities. Gaining experience in a field of interest will not only help them build the skills they will need in the future, it will also allow them to meet professionals working in the same field and learn from their experience.
Class 8 Aptitude Skill Test- Students encounter a variety of aptitude tests throughout school as they think about what they might like to study in Class IX, which subject to be chosen which will help in building their career in future.
CAREERWIZ- Career fair organized by PBAS where top colleges of India such as IEM, UEM, TECHNO INDIA, OPS JINDA, JIS Group etc visited the school campus to update the students for various under graduate programmes.

P B Academic School recently hosted a dynamic event as part of its Commerce fest – the Think Tank Entrepreneurial Programme on 6th and 8th November 2023. On the first day , it was an inter house event where two teams from each house showcased the innovative spirit and business acumen of the students. The best four teams were selected to perform on the final day.
The event commenced with a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation as students presented their meticulously prepared PowerPoint presentations on a diverse set of business set ups. The entrepreneurial ventures presented ranged from tech startups to sustainable ventures, reflecting a broad spectrum of interests and ambitions.
Throughout the programme, the judges were impressed by the articulate and confident delivery of the students. They fielded questions with poise and demonstrated a thorough knowledge of their respective business models. We eagerly look forward to future editions of the Commerce Fest and similar initiatives that continue to empower and inspire the budding entrepreneurs of P. B Academic School.
