Regular physical education classes help in improving the growth of strong bones and muscles, develop good posture and balance, leave a positive impact on students’ physical, mental, and social well-being.
Formal training in basketball is given to the students in weekly sessions by a trained coach in the open basketball court inside the school campus. The students have already developed a great interest in it and every year they are participating in various inter-school competitions.
Our school has introduced cricket as a part of the co-curricular activities. The spacious playground of the school is a favourite spot for the students to practice. The school has produced cricketers of exceptional talent who have also represented the school in various events.
Karate has been introduced from class IV onwards. A 30 minute session per week for Karate and Martial Arts helps the children to host a positive mental and physical attitude both at school and at home. Curriculum like Self defense and Physical fitness also accompanies the program. Karate promotes leadership, skills in children to help them succeed in life and increase speed, stamina and strength in children. Karate sessions are also helpful for children in other sports and activities.
A 30 minute yoga session per week has been introduced in our school from classes’ I-XII to develop a sense of well being. Yoga helps the children to find harmony between the mind and the body. Students develop proper breathing habits. Regular practice of yogic postures enhance the ability of students to concentrate, to deal with impulse behavior and to think more clearly.
