SPORTS AT PB ACADEMIC

P.E, BASKETBALL, CRICKET, KARATE, YOGA

Students can perform better in academics by including sports in their daily routines. Sports will keep their mind fresh, and physically fit, and add discipline to their study routine. Skills such as coordination, multitasking and situational awareness will help in enhancing their academic skills.

Playing sports not just leads to a healthy life but also helps in building good relationships with peers, classmates, friends and family, and it strengthens students’ horizons of conceiving things. Through sports students also learn to overcome obstacles and challenges that come their way.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Regular physical education classes help in improving the growth of strong bones and muscles, develop good posture and balance, leave a positive impact on students’ physical, mental, and social well-being.

BASKETBALL

Formal training in basketball is given to the students in weekly sessions by a trained coach in the open basketball court inside the school campus. The students have already developed a great interest in it and every year they are participating in various inter-school competitions.

CRICKET

Our school has introduced cricket as a part of the co-curricular activities. The spacious playground of the school is a favourite spot for the students to practice. The school has produced cricketers of exceptional talent who have also represented the school in various events.

KARATE

Karate has been introduced from class IV onwards. A 30 minute session per week for Karate and Martial Arts helps the children to host a positive mental and physical attitude both at school and at home. Curriculum like Self defense and Physical fitness also accompanies the program. Karate promotes leadership, skills in children to help them succeed in life and increase speed, stamina and strength in children. Karate sessions are also helpful for children in other sports and activities.

YOGA

A 30 minute yoga session per week has been introduced in our school from classes’ I-XII to develop a sense of well being. Yoga helps the children to find harmony between the mind and the body. Students develop proper breathing habits. Regular practice of yogic postures enhance the ability of students to concentrate, to deal with impulse behavior and to think more clearly.

Inter school basketball tournament

SUBHASH HOUSE EMERGES VICTORIOUS IN INTER-HOUSE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

In an exhilarating display of athleticism and teamwork, P.B. Academic School hosted an Inter-House basketball tournament that featured its four formidable houses: Subhash, Teresa, Gandhi and Tagore on 16th September 2023. 

The tournament, held on the sun-kissed courts of the school, brought together young basketball enthusiasts from the various houses. The event was a testament to the school’s commitment to promoting sports and fostering a spirit of healthy competition amongst students.

The final match, which was eagerly anticipated by all, featured Subhash House facing off against their fierce rivals, Teresa House. The tension in the air was palpable as the teams battled it out on the court. In the end, Subhash House emerged as the victors, winning the final match with a commendable margin.

The tournament was a resounding success and everyone eagerly awaits the next inter-school sporting event.
