The George Hess Literary Competitions ASISC Debate Competition 2024 was held on July 19th, 2024, at P. B. Academic School. The event saw enthusiastic participation in both the junior and senior categories. In the junior category, 8 teams, each with 2 speakers, passionately debated the topic "Animal Testing is Justified for Scientific Research." Their arguments were well-researched and presented with clarity and conviction, reflecting their deep understanding of the subject matter.
In the senior category, 9 teams comprising 18 speakers took to the stage, addressing their points on the topic “The Indian media is not fulfilling its role as the fourth estate effectively “. The senior debaters demonstrated advanced critical thinking and eloquence, making the competition highly engaging and intellectually stimulating. The rigorous rebuttals and counterarguments showcased the participants' preparedness and their ability to think on their feet, impressing the judges and audience alike.
