The 7th installation ceremony of the Interact Club of P.B. Academic School sponsored by Rotary Club of Calcutta Victoria was held on 7th September 2023 in the school auditorium. The club is dedicated to fostering a sense of responsibility, leadership and community service among the student body. Its formation is in line with the school’s mission to instill a strong sense of social responsibility in its students.
Mrs Alka Bangur and Mrs Suman Sood graced the occasion by being the Guests of Honour along with Rotarian Dr Krishnendu Gupta (DGE).
The programme started with a prayer song followed by the felicitation of the guests by the Principal, Mrs Madhuparna Andrews. Swapnaday Dutta was elected as the new Interact President .The other Board Members were also appointed.
We are confident that the Interact Club will continue to thrive and we look forward to witnessing its contributions to the betterment of our society.
Holistic Health and Wellness Week- A Comprehensive Approach to Well- being
P.B Academic School organised an all-encompassing Health Week from 28th August to 31st August dedicated to promoting holistic well- being.
The week kicked off with a strong emphasis on eye and dental health. Optometrists and dental hygienists conducted thorough check ups for everyone. All the students received dental-kits.
A paediatrician was available to guide the students and parents regarding common childhood health concerns. Nutritionists conducted workshops about the importance of balanced diet, meal planning and healthy eating habits.
The last day centered around women’s health with a gynaecologist providing consultations and addressing questions related to reproductive health and maintaining gynaecological well-being.
The lessons learned during this week will continue to inspire us to lead healthier and happier lives.
23rd August, 2023 is a momentous day in the glorious history of India. It was indeed a matter of great pride for every Indian to witness the landing of Chandrayaan 3 on the lunar surface. The successful landing of Vikram made India feature in the exclusive club of 4 , which is a spectacular news by itself. Students of PBAS were sent to BITM along with the teachers to observe this special moment. As an Indian we all are extremely proud of this outstanding accomplishment of our country.
The vibrant and diverse cultural fabric of P.B. Academic School was on display during the two day extravaganza that saw students from 18 schools come together to celebrate the annual cultural fest Utsav-Chapter 2 on 4th and 5th of August 2023.
The fest kicked off with an energetic inauguration ceremony , where the school’s principal Mrs Madhuparna Andrews emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and appreciation. Throughout the event, the campus was transformed into a colourful hub of activity. A kaleidoscope of traditional dances, musical performances, fashion shows, declamation , culinary and sports events entertained the attendees.
One of the highlights of the fest was a band performance by a leading band of Kolkata called “Still Not Known”.
P.B. Academic School was declared the winner of the fest. The event concluded with an atmosphere of jubilation and camaraderie. The hard work put in by the students, teachers and organizing committee paid off in the form of an unforgettable cultural celebration.
With its success, it has set a high bar for Utsav-Chapter 3 in 2024.

“Freedom is the oxygen to the soul”
In a spirited and patriotic celebration, P.B Academic School marked the 76th Independence Day of the nation with an array of activities that showcased the essence of unity, freedom and pride. The school’s premises resonated with patriotic songs , vibrant decorations and a sense of national unity .
We were overwhelmed to have famous soccer player Akash Mishra amongst us as the Chief Guest on this auspicious occasion. The students were not only delighted but also mesmerised by his presence and his inspiring words. He emphasised on hard work, perseverance, learning, studying and most of all loving what one is doing or learning to do.
The cultural programme that followed was a delightful showcase of talent and creativity. Students put up captivating performances from dances to soul- stirring Hindi recitals, patriotic declamation and a soulful rendition of the Vande Mataram.
The highlight of the event was the launch of our New School App with modern features of communication with parents . Our Annual School Magazine- Vision was also released on 15th August which exhibited creativity, lucid expressions of young PBASIANS !
P.B. Academic’s Independence Day celebration served as a reminder that the nation’s spirit of freedom continues to thrive in the hearts of its youngest citizens.

The Times of India believes in encouraging talented young minds as well their mentors and rewarding them for their hard work and dedication. This year the Times Edushine saw Times of India Recognizing both students and principals of their schools for their stupendous performances in the Class X and XII board exams 2023.
It was a moment of pride for P.B. Academic School when its Principal, Ms Madhuparna Andrews was honoured by Times of India Edushine Award in recognition of the Board Results and also in appreciation of Principal’s effort on 25th July 2023 in the Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium. She has always supported the teachers and students in all their endeavours and has ensured that the lessons imparted are flexible and adaptable to the needs of every child.
The award speaks volumes about the institution and the quality of education it offers to the students. We are sure that the name of PBAS will be associated with many such achievements in the future.

The annual prize day of P.B. Academic School for the academic session 2022-23 was held on 22nd July 2023 . It was a grand event , filled with joy and pride as students, teachers and parents gathered to acknowledge and appreciate the outstanding achievements of the students. We were honoured to have CA Pawan Kumar Patodia and Mr Shibasish Banerjee as the Guests of Honour for the day.
Students were honoured with awards and certificates for their exceptional performance in academics. Top performing students from each grade received special recognition for their consistent efforts and dedication. The ICSE and ISC stream/subject toppers were recognised with special honours . The highest scorers in English, Mathematics, Physics and Economics received the Memorial Awards. Special awards were given to students who demonstrated outstanding qualities in leadership and creativity. Scholarships were given to the needy and deserving students.
The highlight of the event was “The Principal’s Report” presented by our Principal Ms Madhuparna Andrews highlighting the glorious events of the previous academic session.
Overall, the annual prize day in our school was a memorable and inspiring event, fostering a culture of excellence and encouraging students to reach new heights in their endeavors.

The air of the PBAS auditorium was filled with enthusiasm as the tiny tots of the pre- primary department played the role of chefs as they participated in the “Kids Kitchen Activity “ on 19th July 2023. We were honoured to have Chef Ranjan Biswas, the founder and chef of the Saptapadi restaurant as our Chief Guest of the event. This time the theme of the event was “Bakery”. We were also over-whelmed to have Chef Radhika Binani, founder and Chef of the famous “Cumb Affair”, a home bakery in Kolkata.
The parents prepared delicious baked items from apple pie, to prawn tarts, pizza, Au gratin, cookies, Nan khatai, chicken puffs, rainbow cakes, coconut cookies, baked mihidana, baked curd and many such mouth watering items. The little chefs wearing their own hand made colourful aprons and caps made sure that their dishes were not only healthy but also nutritious.
The children had fun and were ecstatic when the teachers and guests found their dishes tasty and sumptuous. The parents commended the innovative activity and thanked the school for organizing the event.

West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose organized the states’ “Foundation Day” programme at the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata on 20th June 2023. It was celebrated as part of the “EK Bharat Shrestha Bharat” initiative of Government of India.
A cultural programme comprising Bengali songs, dance and Rabindra Sangeet was presented with the collaboration of Srijon Foundation.
Five Students of P.B. Academic School were honoured to be a part of this prestigious event as they participated in a drawing session based on the theme “Heritage of Bengal”- Tigers.
The event proved to be an enriching experience for the students which they will cherish throughout their lives.
