B. Academic School proudly celebrated the 8th Installation Ceremony of its Interact Club, an initiative sponsored by the Rotary Club of Calcutta Victoria. This significant event highlighted the school’s commitment to fostering leadership, community service, and personal development among its students.

The school was honored to have Rotarian Krishnendu Gupta, the District Governor of Rotary District, as the Chief Guest for the ceremony. His presence, along with other distinguished Rotarians, underscored the importance of the occasion and the strong partnership between the school and the Rotary Club. Their support has been instrumental in guiding and mentoring the young leaders of the Interact Club.

A new committee was formed during the ceremony to lead the Interact Club in its various initiatives. Shirsha Banerjee was appointed as the President of the club, with Antara Dey taking on the role of Vice President. The responsibilities of Secretary were entrusted to Ruprekha Das, while Asmita Bhattacharya was named Treasurer. Ashmita Bacharach was appointed as the MHA. These students have demonstrated dedication and leadership skills that will guide the club’s future projects and endeavors.

The school principal, Mrs Madhuparna Andrews, had the honor of officially installing the new committee members by presenting them with their badges. This symbolic gesture marked the beginning of their journey in these esteemed roles and their commitment to upholding the values of the Interact Club. The principal also congratulated the newly elected office bearers and encouraged them to lead with integrity and a spirit of service.

The event concluded with inspiring remarks from the Chief Guest and other Rotarian dignitaries, who encouraged the newly appointed leaders to continue the tradition of service, compassion, and community involvement. P. B. Academic School proudly organized the CISCE Games and Sports Gymnastics Championship on 10th August 2024. The event took place at the South Eastern Railway Indoor Stadium, which provided the perfect setting for this prestigious competition. The Championship was graced by esteemed guests, including Sri Biswarup Saha, the Chief Office Superintendent, and Sri Dayanand, Chief Commercial Manager of South Eastern Railway, who attended as Guests of Honour.

The event saw enthusiastic participation, with 15 talented gymnasts representing 11 different schools. Each participant displayed remarkable skill and determination, making the competition both thrilling and inspiring. The championship was a resounding success, reflecting the seamless organization and meticulous planning by P. B. Academic School.

The highlight of the event was the prize distribution ceremony, where the school principal, Mrs. Madhuparna Andrews, took center stage to present the awards. Her words of encouragement and appreciation for the participants underscored the spirit of sportsmanship that the event embodied.

On 30th September 2024, P. B. Academic School celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm, recognizing the significance of the Hindi language in connecting diverse communities across India. Though Hindi Diwas is traditionally celebrated on the 14th of September .

The event featured a series of engaging performances by students, including Hindi recitations that brought forth the beauty and depth of the language. Through storytelling, students shared timeless tales that imparted valuable life lessons, showcasing the moral and cultural wisdom embedded in Hindi literature. A captivating drama performance also highlighted key messages of unity, integrity, and compassion.

The celebration concluded with an exciting quiz on Hindi literature, which tested students’ knowledge and understanding of classic Hindi works and authors. The quiz added a fun yet educational aspect to the event, allowing students to deepen their appreciation for the language and its literary heritage.

P. B. Academic School celebrated its Annual Prize Day on 27th July 2024 to honour students from various classes for their academic achievements, attendance, and achievements in the arts. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Debashish Dutta, General Secretary of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club, Former Chairman of the FFAI, and Director of BGS Group, who served as the Chief Guest.
The school principal Mrs Madhuparna Andrews presented the Principal’s Report for the academic year 2023-2024, highlighting the school’s achievements, progress, and future aspirations. Special honors were awarded to the ICSE and ISC toppers, acknowledging their academic excellence. Additionally, subject toppers were recognized for their outstanding performance in individual subjects.
Exemplary students were awarded the prestigious Principal’s Cup, celebrating their all-around excellence and significant contributions to the school community. Gandhi House was honored with the Cock House Cup for their exceptional performance throughout the year.

On the 19th of July, 2024, P. B. Academic School proudly hosted its Investiture Ceremony, marking a significant occasion in the academic calendar where new student leaders were appointed. The event was a blend of tradition, enthusiasm, and a solemn pledge of duty by the newly elected student council.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome to all attendees, including the esteemed guest of honour, CO Nasir Ahmed Aziz, who graced the event with his presence. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as the students, teachers, and parents gathered to witness the symbolic transfer of responsibility to the new leaders. The solemn oath-taking ceremony was administered by the school principal, Mrs Madhuparna Andrews. The Captains and Prefects vowed to be honest in performing their duties and responsibilities towards the school on campus or in the games field.
In a moment of great pride and achievement, Srimonti Roy was selected as the School Captain, while Astha Singh was appointed as the School Vice Captain. Their selection was a testament to their exemplary leadership qualities, dedication, and commitment to the school’s ethos.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of badges to the Captains and Prefects of the four houses: Subhash, Gandhi, Tagore, and Teresa. Each house leader stepped forward to receive their badges, symbolizing their readiness to uphold the values and responsibilities of their respective roles. The badges were a reflection of the trust and confidence placed in them by their peers and teachers.
CO Nasir Ahmed Aziz, in his address, emphasized the importance of leadership, integrity, and service. He inspired the newly appointed leaders to lead by example and to contribute positively to the school community. His words resonated with everyone present, underscoring the significance of the roles the students were about to undertake.
The ceremony concluded with the newly appointed leaders taking a solemn oath to perform their duties with dedication and to uphold the values of P. B. Academic School. Their pledge was met with applause, signifying the support and encouragement of the entire school community.

The George Hess Literary Competitions ASISC Debate Competition 2024 was held on July 19th, 2024, at P. B. Academic School. The event saw enthusiastic participation in both the junior and senior categories. In the junior category, 8 teams, each with 2 speakers, passionately debated the topic “Animal Testing is Justified for Scientific Research.” Their arguments were well-researched and presented with clarity and conviction, reflecting their deep understanding of the subject matter.
In the senior category, 9 teams comprising 18 speakers took to the stage, addressing their points on the topic “The Indian media is not fulfilling its role as the fourth estate effectively “. The senior debaters demonstrated advanced critical thinking and eloquence, making the competition highly engaging and intellectually stimulating. The rigorous rebuttals and counterarguments showcased the participants’ preparedness and their ability to think on their feet, impressing the judges and audience alike.
P. B. Academic School proved to be an exemplary host, providing a seamless and hospitable experience for all attendees. The event was well-organized, with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. P. B. Academic School successfully conducted Health Week from the 15th to the 18th of July, 2024. This event saw the enthusiastic participation of all students, who engaged actively in the various activities organized throughout the week. The primary aim of Health Week was to promote health awareness and encourage healthy living among students and the broader school community.
Renowned doctors from various medical fields were invited to participate in panel discussions, sharing their expertise on crucial health topics. These discussions covered areas such as nutrition, mental health, the importance of regular exercise, and preventive healthcare. Students and parents had the opportunity to interact with these experts, gaining valuable insights and advice.
In addition to the panel discussions, comprehensive health check-ups were conducted for all students. Professional dentists carried out dental examinations, offering guidance on maintaining good oral hygiene and preventing common dental issues. Regular height and weight measurements were taken to monitor growth patterns and ensure students are within healthy ranges. Optometrists conducted eye tests to detect any vision problems early, ensuring timely intervention and treatment. Mental health professionals also assessed students to identify any psychological issues, providing support and advice for maintaining mental well-being.
Parents played a significant role in Health Week, actively participating in the various health activities.
Health Week 2024 successfully raised awareness about the importance of regular health check-ups and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The comprehensive check-ups facilitated the early detection of potential health issues, allowing for prompt intervention and treatment. P. B. Academic School remains committed to the health and well-being of its students and will continue to organize such events to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Our celebration began with warm French greetings in the presence of our honorable Principal, Madhuparna Andrews. The event was filled with vibrant performances:
– Students from classes III to V introduced themselves and recited the charming rhyme “Petit Escargot.”
– Our senior students delivered a powerful chorus of a Revolution Song.
At the end, Principal Andrews distributed certificates to all participants and shared her thoughts on the commendable performances.

The Times of India, a staunch advocate for nurturing the potential of the youth, recently hosted the prestigious Times Edushine Awards 2024. This event aims to honor and celebrate the academic prowess of students who have demonstrated exceptional performance in their studies, highlighting them as the leaders of tomorrow. Among the many bright young minds recognized, seven students from P. B. Academic School stood out for their outstanding achievements in their Class X and Class XII examinations.
The event also highlighted the invaluable role played by the school principal, Mrs Madhuparna Andrews, for her unwavering commitment to fostering an environment of encouragement and inspiration.
