On the 24th of April, 2024, P B Academic School gleamed with jubilant celebrations as it honoured the birthday of its esteemed founder, Shri Purushottam Kumar Bhagchanda. The occasion was graced by numerous distinguished guests, adding to the festive aura of the day.

The festivities commenced with a mesmerizing performance by the school choir, filling the air with melodious tunes that resonated through the halls. Following this enchanting start, a captivating Hindi recitation from the Mahabharata enthralled the audience, transporting them into the epic’s legendary tales.

The pinnacle of the event was a spectacular dual performance, seamlessly blending karate and dance, showcasing the theme of women  empowerment.

To add a new dimension to the event,Mrs. Madhuparna Andrews, the esteemed school principal, took the stage to recognize and honour the dedicated service of the teachers and staff. With heartfelt gratitude, she presented special honors to these exemplary individuals, acknowledging their unwavering commitment in various fields.

P B Academic School resonated with vibrant festivities on February 14, 2024, as the school community came together to celebrate Saraswati Puja with immense fervor and enthusiasm. The occasion was marked by a rich cultural program which commenced with melodious songs and captivating dances performed by the students, reflecting the essence of tradition and culture. However, the highlight of the event was the Inter-House Rangoli Competition, themed “Ethnic Bengal,” where creativity knew no bounds. Each of the four houses exhibited exceptional artistic skills and ingenuity, creating stunning rangolis that depicted the rich heritage and cultural ethos of Bengal. After careful deliberation Gandhi House emerged victorious, securing the first position with their intricately designed rangoli that depicted the essence of Bengal’s cultural tapestry. Subhash House secured the second position, showcasing commendable creativity and artistic prowess. As the festivities came to a close, the spirit of joy and camaraderie lingered on, serving as a reminder of the enduring values and traditions that bind us together as a community.

PB Academic School’s Junior Sports Day, held on January 20, 2024, was a vibrant celebration of youthful energy and talent. The event saw enthusiastic participation from pre-scholars to class II, showcasing their athleticism and teamwork.

The day kicked off with impressive drill performances, setting the stage for a series of exciting sports events. Among the highlights were unique activities such as “crawl and creep” and “orange baskets,” adding a creative and engaging touch to the traditional sports lineup.

One remarkable aspect of the event was the inclusion of children from the inclusive education program. Their special March and races not only added a heartwarming touch to the occasion but also emphasized the school’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.

The Junior Sports Day at PB Academic School was not just a display of physical prowess but also a celebration of unity and diversity, making it a memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved.

P B Academic School’s senior annual sports day held on 17.12.2023 was a spectacular event filled with enthusiasm and fierce competition. The culmination of various athletic talents showcased the spirit of sportsmanship among students. Teresa House emerged triumphant, claiming the top spot, followed closely by Gandhi House in second place, Subhash securing third, and Tagore House earning the fourth position.

The day unfolded with thrilling flat races, exhilarating relay competitions, and impressive javelin throws, creating an electric atmosphere. However, the true highlight of the event was the impeccable march past, a display of discipline and unity, where Gandhi House outshone the rest, securing the coveted first place.

The sports day not only celebrated physical prowess but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition among the students. As the cheers echoed through the school grounds, it was evident that the event left an indelible mark on the memories of participants and spectators alike, reinforcing the importance of sports and teamwork in the school community.”

P. B Academic School recently orchestrated its much-anticipated Junior Annual Concert, a mesmerizing spectacle centred around the theme of Arabian Nights on 9th December 2023. The event was a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering creativity and providing a platform for its youngest talents.

From the youngest pre-scholars to the vibrant Class II students, the entire junior section enthusiastically participated in bringing the tales of Arabian Nights to life. The auditorium buzzed with excitement as parents, teachers, and fellow students gathered to witness the culmination of weeks of dedicated preparation.

The performances were a delightful mix of dance, drama, and music, skillfully presented by the budding artists. The young performers transported the audience to the mystical world of Desert Queen, Singing Princess, Ali Baba weaving tales of genies, flying carpets, and magical adventures. The colorful costumes, intricate stage setups, and enthusiastic execution added an extra layer of charm to the event.

The concert proved to be a resounding success and the teachers and parents alike were proud witnesses to the blossoming talents of the youngsters.

P. B. Academic School actively engaged in the first International Competition for Maths held in the City Montessori School, Lucknow held from 30th November 2023 to 3rd December 2023. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 62 schools, spanning both national and international domains. Notably, P. B. Academic School contributed significantly with four participants  from grades VI to IX (Arpita Sahoo, Shaurya Pal, Thumri Bag and Shivansh Shaurya)showcasing their mathematical prowess and contributing to the vibrant exchange of mathematical ideas in various events like Confabulors (Debate), Mathematicum Le Modele (Model Making) and Mathdoku (Ken Ken Puzzle). They were accompanied by two teachers, Mr Bilas Ghosh and Ms Mithu Das

The interaction with students from both national and international schools was invaluable. Our students had the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss mathematical concepts and broaden their perspectives. The experience not only elevated the mathematical acumen of our students but also enriched their overall educational experience. We look forward to future opportunities for such engaging and intellectually stimulating events that contribute to the holistic development of our students.

PB Academic School Hosts Successful Career Fair – Careerwiz for Classes 11 and 12

PB Academic School recently organized an impactful career fair tailored for the students of classes 11 and 12. The event, held at the school auditorium , aimed to provide valuable insights and diverse opportunities for students to explore potential career paths. The fair witnessed the participation of nearly 30 renowned universities and colleges from across Kolkata, creating a platform for students to interact directly with representatives from various educational institutions.

The career fair, spanning a day, proved to be a significant resource for the attending students. It offered a comprehensive overview of the numerous academic and professional avenues available to them after completing their higher secondary education. The participating universities and colleges covered a wide array of disciplines, ensuring that students had access to information about courses ranging from sciences and humanities to commerce and technology.

Throughout the fair, enthusiastic students engaged in meaningful conversations with university representatives, gathering insights into admission requirements, course structures, and extracurricular opportunities. The event facilitated a dynamic exchange of information, allowing students to make informed decisions about their future academic and professional journeys.

The career fair not only served as a platform for educational institutions but also featured interactive sessions and workshops on career counseling and skill development.
