The Hotel and Hospitality Management team at UEM orchestrated a compelling workshop in PB Academic School for the home science students, centering on the art of crafting vegan dishes. The event, held on 9.11.2023 unfolded as a dynamic platform for culinary exploration and educational engagement.

The workshop commenced with an insightful presentation on the principles and significance of veganism in contemporary gastronomy. Expert chefs from UEM’s faculty demonstrated innovative techniques and recipes, showcasing the diversity and flavours inherent in plant-based cuisine.

Home science students actively participated in hands-on cooking sessions, honing their culinary skills under the guidance of seasoned professionals. In addition to the culinary focus, the workshop included discussions on the nutritional aspects of vegan dishes, shedding light on the health benefits associated with plant-based diets.

The event fostered a collaborative and vibrant learning environment for the students.

Overall, the workshop proved to be a resounding success, enriching the culinary knowledge of home science students and instilling a deeper appreciation for the artistry of vegan gastronomy.

Anti Bullying

P. B. Academic School recently observed Anti-Bullying Week from 16th October 2023 to 18th October 2023 with great enthusiasm and a series of activities aimed at fostering a safe and inclusive environment. The event saw active student participation in various activities designed to raise awareness about the importance of countering bullying.

The event linked off with an inter-house slogan and poster making competition where students exhibited their creativity and their commitment to the cause of anti-bullying. One of the major highlights was the gripping drama performance by the students.which focused on the consequences of bullying and the importance of empathy. Few students also shared their personal experiences on bullying.

To further enrich the students’ understanding of the issue, the school invited a renowned social activist, Mr Bobby Chakraborty to interact with the students. This interaction served as a valuable opportunity for students to learn from real world experiences and connect with the broader anti-bullying community.

The weeks activities ignited a collective spirit of empathy and kindness, which is expected to resonate within the school community for years to come.

Grand Parents Day

“Grandparents hold our tiny hands for just a little while, but our hearts forever “ P. B Academic School resounded with the joyous laughter and warm embraces of grandparents as they were honoured on the occasion of Grandparents Day on 29th September 2023. This year the theme chosen was “Peace “, highlighting the invaluable role grandparents play in imparting wisdom, values and a sense of harmony to the younger generations. The event kicked off with a heartwarming welcome from the school principal, Mrs Madhuparna Andrews. She emphasised the significance of grandparents in nurturing family bonds and shaping the character of their grandchildren. We were honoured to have popular Bengali film and television actress Sudipa Basu as our Chief Guest on the occasion. The day was filled with various fun and engaging activities like Gandhi Cap making, tail the monkey, making pyramids and posters on peace. The highlight of the event was the Quiz on Gandhiji and the delicious papri chaat and dahi puchkas that the children prepared with their grandparents. The school looks forward to many more such celebrations, cherishing the invaluable contributions of grandparents in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.
