P. B. Academic School hosted an Inter-House Chess Competition for junior students from classes 3 to 5 on 19th November 2024. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing four houses: Gandhi, Subhash, Tagore, and Teresa. The competition showcased the strategic thinking and competitive spirit of the young participants.

Gandhi House emerged victorious, demonstrating exceptional chess skills and teamwork. Subhash House secured the second position, displaying impressive strategic play, while Tagore House claimed the third spot, showcasing remarkable talent and sportsmanship. Teresa House finished fourth, showing potential and determination. The participants exhibited critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and excellent sportsmanship.

The School Principal praised the students for their passion and skill, emphasising that the competition fosters critical thinking, focus, and teamwork. Junior Concert 2024: A Musical Journey Through Time

P. B. Academic School celebrated its much-anticipated Junior Concert on 16th November 2024, showcasing the incredible talents of its youngest stars. The event was a heartwarming musical extravaganza, featuring captivating performances that celebrated the evolution of music through the decades—from the swinging beats of the 1960s to the chart-topping hits of the 2020s. The event was graced by esteemed guests Mr. Abhijit Guha, renowned filmmaker of Tollywood, Mr. Debasish Kumar, MLA, and Mrs Lopamudra Malhotra, a prominent face in the fashion industry.

The tiny scholars of Nursery and Kindergarten took the audience on a mesmerizing journey through time. Their energetic performances captured the unique rhythm and charm of each era, leaving the spectators spellbound. With every beat, the young performers brought the spirit of the decades alive, making it an evening of joy, nostalgia, and celebration. The Think Tank Entrepreneurship Program at P. B. Academic School was held on 29th October 2024, showcasing the innovative spirit of young minds. Organized as an inter-house event, it provided students an opportunity to simulate the real-world experience of establishing a startup, with each house representing a different business idea under a budget cap of 20 lakhs.

The competition required each house to craft a compelling presentation detailing their business plan, followed by a question-and-answer session with the panel of judges. The event was graced by four prominent judges, each a budding entrepreneur in their respective field, who brought their expertise and industry insights to guide and evaluate the presentations.

After a series of impressive presentations, Teresa House emerged victorious. Their unique concept of offering virtual training to workers to enhance productivity and skill development impressed the judges with its practicality and scalability. The judges praised Teresa House for their forward-thinking approach, seeing potential in their proposal to bridge the skills gap through accessible digital platforms.

Esteemed guests Debolina Nandy, a popular singer, and RJ Jenia graced the occasion with their presence, bringing an air of excitement to the celebration.

The students showcased their talents through a variety of performances. Younger students delighted the audience with their energy in performances of traditional Puja songs. A beautiful dance drama was staged, adding a cultural flair to the celebration. A powerful sequence on women’s empowerment took center stage as students portrayed the symbolic battle between Durga and Asur, emphasizing the strength and resilience of women.

PBAS Utsav 2024

P. B. Academic School celebrated Utsav, the cultural fest, on the 2nd and 3rd of August 2024. This grand event featured a wide array of competitions, including dance, fashion shows, singing, western band performances, cooking, basketball, and more. The fest attracted participation from nearly 18 schools, each showcasing their best talents and vying for the top positions in various events. The atmosphere was electric with excitement and anticipation, as students from different schools gathered to celebrate creativity, skill, and teamwork.

P. B. Academic School emerged as the overall champion of Utsav, demonstrating exceptional performance across multiple categories. Their students shone brightly in various competitions, particularly in the singing and western band events. The solo singer from P. B. Academic School won a guitar, a prize sponsored by Music Mantra Exclusive, for their outstanding performance. Additionally, the school’s western band was awarded attractive coffee mugs, also sponsored by Music Mantra Exclusive, for their impressive showing in the band competition.

G. D. Birla Centre for Education School secured the second position overall, with their students delivering notable performances in several events. Their participation added a competitive edge to the fest, and their achievements were a testament to their dedication and talent. Saini International School, Mahestala, claimed the third position, showcasing a commendable level of skill and enthusiasm. The spirited performances from all participating schools contributed to the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere of Utsav 2024.

On 9th August 2024, P.B. Academic School hosted a delightful Kidz Kitchen Activity, celebrating the culinary creativity of its youngest students. The event featured Monica Liu, the esteemed owner of various restaurants in China Town, as the chief guest. The theme for this year’s activity was oriental cuisine, setting the stage for a vibrant and flavorful experience.

The students of classes Nursery and KG, with enthusiastic support from their parents, showcased their culinary talents by preparing a variety of delicious dishes. The menu included green Thai curry, BBQ fish, sushi, sticky rice, and many other mouth-watering delights, each reflecting the rich and diverse flavours of oriental cuisine.

The participants were judged on three crucial criteria: taste, hygiene, and presentation. The judging panel, led by the school’s principal, Mrs. Madhuparna Andrews, alongside Monica Liu, carefully evaluated each dish. The young chefs impressed everyone with their attention to detail, creativity, and the sheer effort put into their culinary creations.

Report on Kids Carnival at P. B. Academic School

P. B. Academic School organized a vibrant and joyous Kids Carnival on 21st September 2024 . The event began at 10 a.m. with children and their families arriving, ready to enjoy the festivities.

Various exciting game corners were set up, including a Car Race and the popular Feed the Joker game. These activities engaged children, bringing smiles and laughter throughout the day. A Live Music Corner added to the carnival spirit, where children also enjoyed the creative activity of getting tattoos painted on their palms.

In addition to the games, children performed lively action songs, much to the delight of the parents, who were thrilled to watch their little ones perform. One of the main highlights of the day was the Magic Show, which kept both children and adults mesmerized until the very end.

As a sweet gesture, every child received return gifts while leaving, making the event even more memorable. The Kids Carnival was a grand success, bringing together fun, joy, and celebration for the school community just before the festive Puja season.
