The Times of India believes in encouraging talented young minds as well their mentors and rewarding them for their hard work and dedication. This year the Times Edushine saw Times of India Recognizing both students and principals of their schools for their stupendous performances in the Class X and XII board exams 2023.

It was a moment of pride for P.B. Academic School when its Principal, Ms Madhuparna Andrews was honoured by Times of India Edushine Award in recognition of the Board Results and also in appreciation of Principal’s effort on 25^th July 2023 in the Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium. She has always supported the teachers and students in all their endeavours and has ensured that the lessons imparted are flexible and adaptable to the needs of every child.

The award speaks volumes about the institution and the quality of education it offers to the students. We are sure that the name of PBAS will be associated with many such achievements in the future.

The annual prize  day of P.B. Academic School for the academic session 2022-23 was held on 22^nd July 2023 . It was a grand event , filled with joy and pride as students, teachers and parents gathered to acknowledge and appreciate the outstanding achievements of the students. We were honoured to have CA Pawan Kumar Patodia and Mr Shibasish Banerjee as the Guests of Honour for the day.

Students were honoured with awards and certificates for their exceptional performance in academics. Top performing students from each grade received special recognition for their consistent efforts and dedication. The ICSE and ISC stream/subject toppers were recognised with special honours . The highest scorers in English, Mathematics, Physics and Economics received the Memorial Awards. Special awards were given to students who demonstrated outstanding qualities in leadership and creativity. Scholarships were given to the needy and deserving students.

The highlight of the event was “The Principal’s Report” presented by our Principal Ms Madhuparna Andrews highlighting the glorious events of the previous academic session.

Overall, the annual prize day in our school was a memorable and inspiring event, fostering a culture of excellence and encouraging students to reach new heights in their endeavors.

West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose organized the states’ “Foundation Day” programme at the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata on 20^th June 2023. It was celebrated as part of the “EK Bharat Shrestha Bharat” initiative of Government of India.

A cultural programme comprising Bengali songs, dance and Rabindra Sangeet was presented with the collaboration of Srijon Foundation.

Five Students of P.B. Academic School were honoured to be a part of this prestigious event as they participated in a drawing session based on the theme “Heritage of Bengal”- Tigers.

The event proved to be an enriching experience for the students which they will cherish throughout their lives.

PBAS students showcase their culinary skills…..

The air of the PBAS auditorium was filled with enthusiasm as the  tiny tots of the pre- primary department played the role of chefs as they participated in the “Kids Kitchen Activity “ on 19th July 2023. We were honoured to have Chef Ranjan Biswas, the founder and chef of the Saptapadi restaurant as our Chief Guest of the event. This time the theme of the event was “Bakery”. We were also over-whelmed to have Chef Radhika Binani, founder and Chef of the famous “Cumb Affair”, a home bakery in Kolkata. 

The parents prepared delicious baked items from apple pie, to prawn tarts, pizza, Au gratin, cookies, Nan khatai, chicken puffs, rainbow cakes, coconut cookies, baked mihidana, baked curd and many such mouth watering items. The little chefs wearing their own hand made colourful aprons and caps made sure that their dishes were not only healthy but also nutritious. 

The children had fun and were ecstatic when the teachers and guests found their dishes tasty and sumptuous. The parents commended the innovative activity and thanked the school for organizing the event.

We are glad to inform that our Hindi students have portrayed their best efforts and performed exceptionally well in the ICSE and ISC examination. For their performance , SANMARG honoured them with a certificate of appreciation at the Ram Avatar Gupt Pratibha Purashkar held at Science City Auditorium.

We are extremely delighted and proud of our students and we bless them to excel in their life.

It was a proud moment for all as P.B. Academic School held its Investiture Ceremony on 14.07.23, forming its much awaited Board of Captains and Prefects. We were fortunate to have amongst Y Shrikant, IPS Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic (South) as the Guest of Honour.

Arjun Chatterjee and Arunava Das were selected as the School Captain and Vice Captain respectively. Four Captains were selected for each of the four Houses- Subhash, Teresa, Gandhi and Tagore. The newly elected members of the Prefectorial Board took the oath of office. Thereafter, they were conferred with badges by our Principal, Mrs Madhuparna Andrews. She congratulated the team and reminded them that with position comes responsibility towards themselves. She advised them to be role models for their peers and juniors.

The highlight of the event was the formation of ABC (The Anti Bullying Coalition in School) . Able students from classes III to IX were selected to form the squad to report to the authorities against any sort of bullying or harassment in the classes and school premises.

The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

P.B. ACADEMIC SCHOOL HOSTS YOGA SESSION

Yoga is a flame, when you light it up, the glow never fades away”

P.B. Academic School celebrated the 9^th International Yoga Day on the 21^st of June 2023 on the theme “Yoga for Vasudhaiva  Kutumbakam,  which beautifully articulated our shared goal of ‘One Earth, One Family , One Future’.” The primary objective of the yoga session was to cultivate prudence, self-awareness, self-regulation and elevate consciousness among the students.

All the students from Classes III to XII participated in a yoga session in the school auditorium guided by a yoga practitioner. The session included yoga, comprising a series of poses and stretches with breathing  techniques . It also focused on Yoga pledge, Surya Namaskar, Yoga formation and the different  asanas.

The students participated with unwavering enthusiasm and vigour.”

The tiny tots of the Pre-Primary section of P.B. Academic School celebrated Father’s Day on 17^th June 2023 in the school auditorium. The auditorium thronged with dads enthusiastically involving themselves with their kids in various games like sorting the grains, blowing balloons, decorating cards, tshirt painting and the special game  “Find your Child”. The fathers even tried their hands in sandwich making in innovative designs. The cherry on the cake was the exciting craft work which comprised of the dads making “crowns” and “tiaras” for their children.

The fathers thoroughly enjoyed the show and applauded the efforts of our respected principal, Mrs Madhuparna Andrews and the teachers.

The entire occasion was touching, rejuvenating which the fathers and children will cherish for their lifetime.
