Math online learning by Mindspark

Purushottam Bhagchandka Academic School encouraged a personalised learning tool called Mindspark Maths which works on adaptive logic and makes maths concepts better.
As a #schoolthatcares we respect the individual differences of children and want them to work at their own pace. It has been incorporated as an useful supplementary tool for students from classes I to X. A lot of students scored 90 percent and above.
We are proud to announce that our Mindspark admin Mr Kamal Mitra and two teachers Mr Sandip Khan and Mrs Aditi Bose have been acknowledged for their outstanding contributions and tireless efforts in encouraging students.
We congratulate them for their great initiative!

School Activities Undertaken In April and May

Dear Parents

‘ Sometimes we’re tested not to show our weaknesses, but to discover our strengths.’

Such an inspiring quote is apt for the pandemic situation we are engulfed in. Despite the uncertainty looming large, Purushottam Bhagchandka Academic School has shown its strength and risen to the occasion. To tide over the unprecedented circumstances, the school prudently undertook the following steps at the right time which proves its mission and vision dedicated to the welfare of its students.

  • Just before the lock-down teachers had recorded video of the lessons and assignment was given to the students.

  • A talk with the Principal Mrs. M. Andrews was organised on 10th April where nuances of the new model of teaching through virtual platform was discussed. The education system took a major shift from the chalk and talk method to online classrooms.

  • Online education was properly planned from Pre-nursery to Class XII level. The juniors were given a taste of worksheets fun and study.

  • Extra-curricular activities like Online Robotics classes, music lessons, physical education were regularly conducted by teachers.

  • The school offered Supplementary teaching aids in form of Extramarks learning app and Mindspark mathematics classes for the benefit of the students.

  • Keeping security issues of learning app in mind, the school promptly shifted from Zoom to Google Meet to ensure optimum success in teaching- learning outcome.

  • An evening with Mothers’ was organised, which was conducted by the Principal Mrs. M. Andrews. It focused on phonetics, human values, power of prayer and counselling young minds.

  • Amidst the lock-down, the school has even offered counselling sessions to enliven the spirit and boost the morale of its students.

  • The school believes in holistic development of the children. Besides academics, it has emphasized online celebrations of Rabindra Jayanti- a very unique and fascinating approach!

  • Many online events have been organised such as inter-house competitions, participated in science fests hosted by Techno City, Silverzone Olympiad, essay competition by NSHM, cultural fest for interactors by Rotary and Hindi literary events by Sanmarg.

  • The most captivating event has been the Summer Camp held through virtual platform. It has been embellished with fitness, Zumba dance, cookery, craft, music and career counselling.

The article would be incomplete without mentioning the marvellous contributions of our teaching faculty. They adapted and embraced online classes and presented videos, PPT’s, explained concepts and solved mathematics seamlessly making teaching highly effective. Not to forget, even online corrections have been done very meticulously.

The School Management earnestly requests their well wishers, their patrons to come forth and be a part of the school ethos. As we proudly claim we are a #schoolthatcares, we would be pleased to have all parents beside us as an equal stakeholder in giving the best to our children. Let us collectively work for securing and building the future of our children in these challenging times.

We pray that you all stay safe, stay positive and healthy!

Best Wishes,

Principal
